About Klem

Since 1992, Robert Klem has been sharing his talent with the world. He’s worked globally in countries including Japan, Norway, Italy, Mexico, Holland, France, and others.

A graduate of San Jose State University’s Fine Arts program, he’s been formally trained in various mediums and techniques.

A pioneer for tattooing in the South Bay, Klem started at the Pinup Parlour in Downtown San Jose, then moved to Marks of Art. In 1999 he relocated to Santa Cruz to work at True Art before opening O’Reilly’s in 2005.

Klem owned and operated Samuel O’Reilly’s Tattoo Parlour in Santa Cruz, California for 15 years. The shop and artists became internationally acclaimed and recognized for their unique aesthetic.

Klem’s work has been published in multiple books and periodicals including Playboy and Tattoo Life Magazine. He has designed a variety of album covers including “Sleep’s Holy Mountain” and skateboard decks for NHS (Santa Cruz Skateboards).
